First collaboration projects awarded in Colombia
On 28 November 2018, Prime Minister Mark Rutte handed out the two first awarded institutional collaboration projects of the Orange Knowledge Programme in Bogotá. Nuffic participated in the NL trade mission to Colombia to further build relations in education & training.

Both projects start in January and contribute to peace building through rural economic development by strengthening the education and training capacity of rural institutions. The projects commence per 1 January 2019 and run to 30 December 2021 and have a budgets of 449,503 EUR (team 1) and 480,948 EUR (team 2).

Winning teams are:
1: Fundación Universitaria Popayan and Maastricht School of Management
The Cauca Local Economic Development Project aims at inclusive and conflict-sensitive development in Cauca through linking state institutions, entrepreneurs, and local knowledge eco-systems. The project will strengthen training, research and extension organisations FUP, SENA, ESAP, and CREPIC. to become more effective, with improved capabilities in offering market-based and conflict-sensitive programmes

2: Universidad Distrital Fransisco José de Caldas in Bogotá and the University of Twente
This project aims to strengthen the national system of land administration as a pre-condition for rural economic development. It’s goal is to ensure the country can count on a qualified workforce at the level of Higher Education, TVET and informal training to support public and private initiatives in land tenure security. Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas will be strengthened in three pillars: education, research and community development (so called outreach), aiming to become the national reference centre for land administration.
