Grant stop lifted for Q1 & Q2

Due to COVID-19 measures, our programme's partner and funder the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested us on 3 April 2020 to temporarily stop all granting. We are now pleased to update you that the temporary grant is lifted for Q1 and Q2, which means we can resume granting under some specific conditions. Please find updates per instrument below.

Scholarships

  • Applications submitted in Round 1 for Individual Scholarships will officially be granted shortly.
  • Application Round 2 will continue with regular procedures for granting.
  • Application Round 3 is expected to continue. An official announcement on this round for scholarships needs to be made in the Staatscourant for Q3 (1 July - 30 September), as the course registration in Hodex is planned to take place from 11 August 2020.

Group Training

  • All open and closed calls from Q1 2020 (1 January - 31 March) will resume regular procedures to be granted. This means that we will grant eligible, good quality proposals for TMT and TMT+. The first grants for TMT are expected shortly. We will increase monitoring for these group trainings during the start phase of the trainings. We do this because the original project plans of these trainings initially might not include cooping with COVID-19 impacts. Please check our Programme Update of 14 January for an overview of to-be-granted group trainings falling under Q1.
  • Published and expected calls for Q2 2020 (1 April - 30 June) will partially continue with procedures for granting. Announced TMT+ calls for Indonesia and Tunisia will be published and granted if eligible and good quality proposals are received. Remaining announced calls for group training will be postponed. The extra time for these remaining calls will be used to check the consequences of the current situation with experts, and to analyse the possibilities for adding digitalisation into the design of training courses that fit the current context.

Institutional collaboration projects
  • All grants from Q4 2019 which were ready to be officially granted, will now be granted.
  • All open and closed calls from Q1 2020 (1 January - 31 March) will resume regular procedures to be granted. This means that eligible, good quality proposals for Institutional collaboration projects will be granted. We will increase monitoring for these projects during their start phase. We do this because the original project plans of these projects initially might not include cooping with COVID-19 impacts. Please check our Programme Update of 14 January for an overview of to-be-granted institutional calls falling under Q1.
  • The expected Q2 Institutional collaboration call for Jordan will be postponed. The extra time created by postponing will be used to check the consequences of the current situation with experts. We will also analyse the possibilities for adding digitalisation into the design of projects that fit the current context.
  • Information on future Institutional collaboration calls for Q3 and Q4 will be shared with you as soon as possible.

Alumni activities

  • The call for alumni activities will re-open and continue procedures for granting activities.

We kindly ask for your understanding relating to the above-explained conditions. We regret any inconveniences it caused. Rest assured that we are doing our utmost best to successfully reach the aim of the programme.

We will inform the embassies separately on what resuming the granting under these conditions implies for their work.

Last but not least: we warmly thank you all for your patience, commitment and creativity dealing with the current situation. If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Delta now improved: customisation possible
Almost a year ago, we introduced ‘Delta’ as our new scholarship administration system, replacing our previous system: ‘Atlas’. Since then, we have been put much effort in further improvement and fine-tuning of Delta. We are happy to announce that we just released an improved version of Delta! The new improvements will give you much more options for customising the system to your needs. It should make your use of Delta easier. To introduce you to all the new features of Delta, we updated our Delta user manual.

On the 28th of May we also organised a demonstration session on Delta's newest adjustments for a small team of education institution staff members. We will share the recording of this session shortly, as it gives a good demonstration of new possibilities with the improved Delta system.

We kindly thank those who helped us to improve our system by sharing feedback.

Corona measures
French version of letter on measures related to corona
We recently shared a letter with the overview of corona measures for already existing grants with you. This document helps you to get clarity on what extra flexibility is given during this period, and which obligations will still have to be met.

As our work in the Francophone region has increased during the last year, we see the need for the translation of more documents to French. We hereby are glad to share the French version of the corona measures document with you. We translated it, so your Francophone project partners will also have full insight into the measures taken.
