Programme Update
27 June 2019

Dear relation,

With this Programme Update we inform you as participant in the programme on all process information regarding the Orange Knowledge Programme.

With kind regards,
Team Orange Knowledge Programme

More Orange Knowledge budget
Iraq, Jordan & Tunesia now full programme countries!
To further align the Orange Knowledge programme to minister Kaag’s development cooperation policy, a number of country focus shifts and initiatives will take place. The announcement, which involves a few amendments in our programme, was published on 26 June 2019 in ‘'Staatscourant' (for English translation, click on button below), our government’s gazette.

What’s new?
  • Iraq is added as new country to the programme, as a special Full Programme Country with Institutional collaboration project and Tailor-made Trainings Plus, but without scholarships and Tailor-made Trainings. Read more in the CPI for Iraq;
  • Tunisia is also new to the programme, as a regular Full programme country (Country Plan of Implementation is expected in the coming months);
  • Jordan has become now a Full Programme Country (was a Compact Plus country), meaning that calls for institutional collaboration are published. Read more in the CPI for Jordan;
  • More funding is available for the country budgets of Ethiopia (nexus Food & Nutrition Security and Security & Rule of Law) and Kenya (Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights);
  • To strengthen fragile states regional calls on the nexus Food & Nutrition Security and Security & Rule of Law will be launched in the Horn of Africa and West Africa;
  • More funding will be allocated for strengthening quality education for refugees and host communities in the Horn of Africa and Syrian region;
  • Following a RVO private sector development project, an initiative for sustaining logistics education and training in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea is foreseen;
  • The total budget for the Orange Knowledge Programme increased with almost €20.5 Mio;
  • India is no longer on the country list of the Orange Knowledge Programme.

New calls for Q2
At the end of June, 3 extra calls will be published for the newly added Full programme countries. As a result of the changes, the budget available for Q2 will be adjusted from €17.896.00 to € 21.996.000.

For deadlines and calls published earlier, Jordan will keep the country status they used to have at the time of publication, which means that Jordan will still be seen as a Compact Plus country for the currently open individual scholarships application round and the TMT+ call for Compact Plus countries.
